Modern log burners are cleaner burning
You might be surpised to know that UK stove manufacturers have been making Eco-compliant stoves since 2021, way before the deadline was set. As a consequence air quality has improved in the last couple of years. DEFRA still think that there is more to be done by stove manufacturers to make them even more efficient but the main problem is how the stove is used.
It's important to read the stove manual when you get it so that you can get the most out of your stove and keep the cost of logs and coal down.
Road transport is still creating more pollution than domestic burning so if you are worried about Air Pollution then it's time to get a new woodburner and an electric car!
